Here are some tweaks you can make to improve the experience of using Old Book style

Old world dates

Customise your theme > Presentation > Entry date/time format

Change to 'Friday, 30th April 2022' and '9pm' for a more old-worldy mood

Leafing through a book

Customise your theme > Presentation > Basic Options > Number of journal entries to show on the Recent Entries page; Number of journal entries to show on the Reading page

If this is a character journal - for example - or you want each post to feel prominent, like leafing through an actual book, change this to 1 - so only one entry is displayed on each page

Type-based

Customise your theme > Presentation > Select whether user interaction links are printed as text or using the available icons/ Select whether entry management links are printed as text or using the available icons/ Select whether comment management links are printed as text or using the available icons

Style default is text-only

Customise your theme > Display > Mood Themes

As style is skeumorphic - like a real book - 'none' is the best option, unless you have or can make a mood theme that 'looks' like a fit for the theme.
